Paris and the MARAIS

Why not walking in a very nice quarter of Paris in the 4th district where you will enjoy the 17th century as well as the typical Jewish quarter of Paris?
It is meaning marshy in French because till the 17th century, the river seine was often floating in the zone of Paris and nobody was living there.
But after modernization and more control of the river, a new quarter of Paris is born and a new social class appear: the bourgeois.
They left us many beautiful mansions considerate like a small Versailles; and as nobody is leaving anymore in the 19th century, it will be a new kind of people: Jewish immigrant coming from the east of Europe.
You can now pass and admire this unique district where some original and fantastic food make difficult to resist like Pouchkine situated now in the left bank on 155 Boulevard Saint-Germain in the district n° 6.

A food and market tour during 3 hours’ coast 240€uros total for 7 persons.

RODIN EXHIBITION IN THE GRAND PALAIS OF PARIS

22 March - 31 July 2017

It is the moment to see before the end the exhibition of the sculptor Auguste Rodin commemoration of its centenary in the Grand Palais of Paris.

Rodin : Le Baiser (the Kiss)

Paris and the bridges on the river Seine

A tour of Paris in a minibus with your private driver guide or a private walking tour with your official guide will always give you the opportunity to see a bridge in Paris. They are 32 and as the river Seine is crossing Paris from the east to the west through the center of the city, it is impossible not to admire one.
They are all different and have their particular history. This one the “Pont Alexandre III” is built in 1900 and has a unique metallic arcade crossing the river. It is also famous to be the most decorated in Paris. Woody Allen used it a lot in the movie “Midnight in Paris”. 1900 is also when the Grand Palais and Petit Palais were inaugurated.

Bridge Alexandre III

The Pont Neuf (meaning the new bridge) is the oldest in Paris!! But it was called new because in the 16th century the modern aspect was that no houses or shops were built on it.
