Some seventy-five of his masterpieces, paintings and temperas, from the largest museums of the world and of prestigious private collections, trace the work of Camille Pissarro, of his youth in the Danish Caribbean’s to large urban series from Paris, Rouen and Le Havre from the end of his life. Considered “the First of the Impressionists” by Cézanne, Pissarro is one of the founders of this group.  He is also the only one to participate in their eight exhibitions. Companion and faithful friend of Claude Monet, master of Cézanne and Gauguin, inspiring Seurat, defending Signac, Pissarro is a major artist. Multilingual, committed intellectual and activist, listening to the young generations, his powerful and constantly evolving work offers a unique panorama of the research that led the circles of Impressionist and Postimpressionists of the second half of the nineteenth century.
